The best night of the whole year is finally here – The 92nd Annual Academy Awards! The glamour, the films, the stars… What’s not to love?
This years show is sure to have some surprises, whether it is a dark horse film that swoops in to win or the wrong winner is announced, it is by far the best night in Hollywood. Although I can’t be there this year to experience it in person (finger crossed, some day), I will be live tweeting the show so follow me to know my thoughts – @britalksmovies.
Alright, alright, I know what you are here for. Let’s get into who I think will take home the coveted golden statue.
Actor in a Leading Role
Joaquin Phoenix, Joker
I didn’t get to post my review of this film but wow… I understand the hype now.
Actor in a Supporting Role
Brad Pitt, Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood
Tom Hanks probably deserves it but for some reason Brad has been a favorite this year.
Actress in a Leading Role
Renée Zellweger, Judy
Again, another favorite this year! But ScarJo in Marriage Story was incredible.
Actress in a Supporting Role
Scarlet Johansson, Jojo Rabbit
- This movie is phenomenal. 2. ScarJo just had a REALLY good year.
Animated Feature Film
Two words…Stop. Motion.
The Academy loves Tarantino and so do I.
They won’t nominate Greta Gerwig for directing so they better give it to her for SOMETHING.
A crowd and Academy favorite, I can’t wait to hear Bong Joon-ho’s speech!
Some people hated it, some people loved it… I guess we will see what the Academy thinks.
International Feature Film
This could be a toss up… Parasite can’t win Best International Feature Film AND Best Picture, can they?
Makeup and Hairstyling
Did you see Charlize Theron? Exactly.
Ugh, I don’t nessecarily agree but I think the Academy really like it. I’d hope it would go to Marriage Story or 1917.
“Into the Unknown,” Frozen II
I mean, duh.
Please, please, please, please.
Animated Short Film
People can’t stop talking about Hair Love and I understand why. *tear*
Ford v Ferrari
This film has gotten lost in the shuffle this year but I think the Academy will give them some recognition in this category.
So good. Just so good.
I am going to give this to the Joker because I really hope the Academy will be smarter than to give this film Best Picture…
I am actually very surprised at how much critics loved Knives Out. I mean, they just announced it is getting a sequel!
The nominees are…
Ford v Ferrari
And the winner is…
