New year, new series on my blog! It’s called “Now on Netflix” and I will review shows and movies that are, well, now on Netflix. See what I did there?
My first goes to the best. Now, I know what you’re going to say.
“You call yourself a movie critic and you’ve never seen Pulp Fiction?!”
I KNOW, I’m the worst. But now that it’s on Netflix, this amazing, cult-classic film is available for everyone’s viewing pleasure.
Pulp Fiction is one film with several story lines. It follows a famous fighter named Butch (Bruce Willis) who makes a promise to a gangster that he can’t keep and everything goes wrong from there, as you could imagine. You follow around Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules (Samuel L. Jackson) for a day, watching them do the dirty, hitman work for their boss when people don’t pay up. Other stories of crime, drugs and sex all intertwine to create the craziness that is this film. Also, you can’t forget about Mia Wallace (Uma Thurman) whose iconic character has inspired Halloween costumes and Fall Out Boy songs.
I’m not sure whether it was the all-star cast or the ridiculously brilliant script but this film is now one of my favorite movies of all time. If you enjoy gritty shows about drugs and crime like Shameless or any other Quentin Tarantino film for that matter, you’ll eat this right up. Please enjoy my favorite GIF from Pulp Fiction down below. Watch it now on Netflix!
