The Martian combines all of the things I love most in films: humor, suspense, action and Matt Damon.
I know I’m a little late on a review of this movie but as the Academy Awards approaches, I’m trying to see all the films nominated for Best Picture so that my guess for who wins will be accurate and non-biased. This film is definitely a force to be reckoned with.
The Martian is about Astronaut Mark Watney (Damon) and his journey of survival after being accidentally left for dead by his fellow team of astronauts… on Mars. Watney is a Botanist and uses that to his advantage while trying to communicate with NASA back on earth that he is still alive.
This film was cinematically beautiful with great one liners like, “I’m going to science the hell out of this”. The Martian also features some familiar faces such as Kirsten Wiig, Donald Glover and Jeff Daniels (more of my favorites!).
The movie is now on DVD so be sure to grab your own copy and enjoy it before the big night!
