Tonight is the night, people!!

Tonight is the night, people!!

Finally, the day has arrived. Only a select few of Hollywoods finest will be going to bed tonight as Oscar winners. I can’t wait till the day I get to stroll that red, velet carpet and be able to say I finally made it. I wanted to have an Oscar viewing party tonight but my messy schedule had to post-pone it till next year. Instead, I’m just going to have a quiet evening at home with my family, some tacos and lots of bets on who will take home the golden statute.
Many people have been asking who I think will take home Best Picture. After viewing all but 3 nominees, I have come to a conclusion on my winner. “And the Oscar goes to”…..PHILOMENA! As you could tell from my previous review of it, I was incredibly impressed by this film so it takes the cake for Best Picture in my book.
For Best Actor in a Leading Role, I was rooting for Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street since he has not won a single Academy Awards yet (which is insane). But, after seeing Matthew McConaughey in Dallas Buyers Club, DiCaprio might have to wait another year for his golden statue. McConaughey completely immersed himself in the role and had a performance that people will be talking about for years.
For Best Actor in a Supporting Role, I have to give it to Jared Leto in Dallas Buyers Club. If you have seen the film, you know why this doesn’t need much explanation. Incredible.
Amy Adams will for sure steal the Oscar for Actress in a Leading Role but Meryl Streep is always stiff competition.
Adams enemy in American Hustle, Jennifer Lawrence, is by far my pick for Actress in a Supporting Role (Katniss who?). She was absolutely hilarious and deserves another Oscar on her shelf. I’m excited to see if she trips on her way up to accepting this award too.
Animated Feature Film was a tough one for me. Despicable Me 2 was a perfect sequel to the first one that I adored so much. Frozen was unlike anything I had ever seen and that is why Frozen is my Oscar pick this year. The music was INCREDIBLE, sounding like it was coming right off the Broadway stage. I could watch it all day and never get bored.
To keep it short and sweet, I’ll post the rest of my picks in an orderly fashion and comment below if you are interested in why I picked what I did! I hope that your ballot is filled out as well and may the odds be ever in our favors!
