This quote is from the movie Her. It really stood out for me because I had never heard anything like it before. It is completely true if you think about it. Every time we think about the past, we are simply just retelling stories in our minds. We can spin those stories to bring us joy or bring us heartache. It’s all about how we want to write it or listen to it all over again. I found it to be very beautiful and kind of depressing. It’s sad that the past becomes only a story and it’s sad that we can only relive those memories through the stories we tell ourselves. It’s kind of a beautiful sadness that I connected with on one too many levels.
