It’s the most wonderful time of the year. A time for family. A time for seasons changing. A time when tons of films hit theaters before the New Year to lock in a spot for Award Show nominations. Oh, what fun!
Take a break from the holiday hustle and bustle by relaxing with a large, buttery popcorn and a good movie at your favorite theater. Here is a list of 5 movies you don’t want to miss before the New Year!
Mary Poppins Returns – December 19
Make way, small children – I’ll be first in line for Mary Poppins Returns. Emily Blunt looks spellbinding, singing and tap dancing her way throughout with film with Lin-Manuel Miranda by her side. There are even cameos from Meryl Streep AND Dick Van Dyke. I’m so there.
Aquaman – December 21
As a die-hard Marvel girl, Aquaman is the first DC film since Wonder Woman that has sparked my interest. Already receiving rave reviews, Aquaman has a lot to prove but I’ll give the King of the Atlantis a chance!
Welcome to Marwen – December 21
Based on a heart-breaking true story, Welcome to Marwen invites you to a world where hardships are overcome through a unique form of expression. Don’t forget the tissues.
VICE – December 25
Once again, Christian Bale renders himself unrecognizable in a role – This time as former Vice President, Dick Cheney. Supporting actors include Golden Globe winner, Amy Adams, and recent Academy Award winner, Sam Rockwell. Sounds like a recipe for success to me.
Holmes & Watson – December 25
How many Sherlock Holmes movies do we need? The world will never know. Will this basically be Step Brothers 2? Probably. Will I still go see it? Heck yes.
What movie are YOU most excited about? Let me know in the comments below. I wish all my fellow movie-lovers a wonderful holiday season, filled with friends, family, food and, of course, film! Happy Holidays!
