Ocean’s 8 Review

Throw out Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13. The new reigning champ is Ocean’s 8, an extension of the originals with an all female, power-house cast that brings more sex appeal, smarts and style than all the other Ocean’s combined.

Ocean’s 8 keeps the same spicy recipe as the the other films with it’s own feminine flare. We meet the ring leader, Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), criminal sister to Danny Ocean played by George Clooney, as she is getting out of prison after serving over 5 years. She wastes no time getting back in the game by gathering a band of bad-ass women to steal a lavish necklace off an unsuspecting actress (Anne Hathaway) at the annual Met Gala.

Each member of this cast dominates the screen in their own way. We have the brilliant Cate Blancett as Debbie’s wing-woman. Rihanna steals the show as a hard-core hacker. Helena Bonham Carter is quirky and funny, per usual, as a nervous fashion designer while Awkwafina keeps it calm and cool as a perfect pick-pocket. The team rounds out with Mindy Kaling as a master jeweler crafts(wo)man and Sarah Paulson as the unsuspicious fence.

The music is sexy, the outfits are killer and this heist will leave you sitting on the edge of your seat. What are you waiting for? Ocean’s 8 is in theaters now!
