“Ladies, gentlemen and those who have yet to make up their minds,” know that Kinky Boots is a MUST SEE show at the Orpheum this week!
This musical/rock show/ drag queen extravaganza is all about accepting yourself and others while making you laugh and want to dance along with the show.
The storyline follows Charlie, a man who inherits his fathers shoe factory and is forced to rescue it from closing down after generations of men’s shoe making.
Charlie has an “ah-ha!” moment after meeting Lola, a drag queen who’s poorly made, women’s shoes just aren’t cutting it anymore.
Together they make fast friends and an even better team. The storyline is absolutely hilarious and the music is uplifting with a mixture of power ballads and dance breaks. Fun Fact: Cyndi Lauper was the first woman in Tony Awards history to win for Best Original Score by herself and after seeing the show, I can see why!
If you can get your hands on some tickets, go see this amazing Broadway show! As always, I promise you wont regret it!
