The Passing of a Shooting Star: Robin Williams

The passing of actors I love is always hard for me. Movies are such a huge part of my everyday life that to lose the wonderfully, talented actors that bring characters to life hurts my heart.

I am still unable to accept the fact that Robin Williams is gone. The night of his passing, August 11th, I had the pleasure of watching two of his most famous movies with friends close by. “Jack” and “Mrs. Doubtfire” won our attention that evening but I’m sure if we had more time, we could have stayed up all night laughing and crying at his beautiful characters.

President Obama issued a statement saying,”Robin Williams was an airman, a doctor, a genie, a nanny, a president, a professor, a bangarang Peter Pan and everything in- between. But he was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit.”

Robin Williams was truly a shooting star —very rare and only here for a short while, but absolutely amazing to witness.

Rest in peace Robin Williams, you will be missed.
